1. Choose your basket or container. The easiest to wrap have straight sides where possible. |
2. Fill your basket with scrunched cellophane or packing paper to raise your products nearer the rim. |
3. Add a layer of co-ordinating shred and spread evenly. |
4. Place your products into the shred and secure with glue dots or skewers. Taller items at the back and shorter items at the front. Trim the shred to eliminate the trailing strands and give a neater edge. |
5. Straighten the items and make sure all can be seen. |
6. Place basket in the centre of a length of cellophane. Hold both the front and back together above the basket. The cellophane should be approximately 8-10 inches above the products in the basket. |
7. Keep the cellophane at the front of the basket upright. Let go of the cellophane at the back and let it lay flat. Whilst holding the the front cellophane, take the side section and bring it round to the back. Secure with a little tape at the widest point to hold in place whilst working. |
8. Do the same with the other side. The front should still be upright and flat against the basket. |
9. Lift one side of the basket and tuck the cellophane underneath. Do the same on the other side. You should now have the cellophane covering the front and sides and the back still laying flat but neat. |
10. Bring the back section that is laying flat up to cover the back and meet the front and sides. |
11. Turn the basket to face you and pull the cello together. |
12. Straighten the cellophane and when you're happy with it, secure with a elastic loop. This will free up your hands to finish the basket. |
13. Add a bow and embellishments to compliment your basket and trim the top of the cellophane. |
