Christmas Basket A
Tasty treats connect to emotionalised gifting. Create a design loaded with remembrances of past Christmasses at home.
Foundation - select your basket and pack out the base.
In this view, the foundation of a taller container is shown prepared with two packs of wrapped foam packing peanuts, and a top layer of loosely crumpled paper. DO NOT USE PRINTED NEWSPAPER FOR GIFT BASKET FOUNDATIONS. The ink in newspapers emits a strong odour, which can penetrate some packaged foods, tainting the original flavour.
Height
Two tall products are selected for this basket, each placed in the back of the basket to provide height and a “backing” of support, against which other products can be braced.
Filler
Fillers can serve a variety of purposes beyond simply “filling in” the open spaces left in a basket after the main products are placed. Fillers can be fun theme items, enhancements, keepsakes, small indulgences, or sample servings of a variety of products. Or, fillers can lower cost items supporting the theme/menu of the basket, which build real value but add little to overall costs.
Bulk
Larger, fuller products quickly fill space, anchor the theme, provide real value for the recipient, and sometimes act as necessary weight balances for the basket. When possible, selecting bulky products featuring textural accents (fabric jar topper and wooden spoon) helps diminish the need for additional and costly enhancements.
Enhancements - use artifical flowers, ivy, napkins etc.
 Placing products
Bows - add an easy handmade bow and cellophane plumes to add height and perceived value.
 Your finished basket!
