This basket is available in natural wicker (code 75-8276) and dark stained wicker ( 75-8277).
It's an ideal size for:
2 average size bottles of wine or
1 bottle of wine with cheese and biscuits or
3 average size jars of pickles, preserves or chutneys |
Select your products. Make sure your happy they'll fit. We've used 2 standard full size bottles of wine in the dark stain basket. |
Use a little packing shred to co-ordinate your products and give some texture and colour. Approximately 75g per basket should be enough. Neaten the overhanging strands. |
Check you're happy with the positioning of the products and they are secure. Look at the overall height too to make sure that they are evenly placed.
Straighten up the bag and flatten any big crinkles. If it's neat before you shrink, it should be neat after! Carefully fold over the open end of the bag as if wrapping a gift, and secure in place with a little sticky tape. |
Using a hairdryer heat the end of the basket opposite the taped end. Keep the hairdryer moving so it doesn't get too hot in one place too quickly or you will melt a hole in the bag. Then move on to the sides then the base. |
The last side of the basket to shrink is the taped end. Go over this end gently or the heat may melt the glue on the sticky tape. |
Once all the sides and base have been finished, the very last place to shrink is the front. This should already be quite taut, so a few seconds should be enough to finish it.
We've chosen two colours of raffia to create a bow on one of the baskets. Just a few strands is enough.
Trim up the edges of the raffia and straighten the bow. Voila! |
